These courses are an introduction to basic Buddhist meditation practice, including mindfulness and metta (goodwill) meditations. They are suitable for complete beginners. They run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will also be teaching meditation during our Thursday evening Introduction to Buddhism courses which follow on from these Saturday sessions, but these courses give the opportunity to take more time and go deeper.
The next course is:
10:00 – 13:00 Saturday 16 May
Quaker Meeting House, 98-100 Crown Street
Cost – donation
There is no need to book formally for the courses, but if you are thinking of coming do drop us an email as it is nice to know who to expect.
Hi there I was thinking about coming to an introduction to Buddhism course, I’ve already studied a section of Buddhism in school so I know quite a bit about Buddhism but not in practice. I was wondering what the age range is of people that normally attend your regulars class as I’m only 16, but I may be interested in coming along? Thanks for you help, Michelle.
Hi Michelle. I expect that you would be the youngest in the class, but we have had all ages along and don’t have any age restrictions. I started going to classes at the Glasgow Buddhist Centre when I was 17 myself, also after learning a bit about it at school 🙂
Hi. Do you have spaces in your Intro to Meditation course on the 28th Feb? Many thanks, Susan
Yes, we do.
Hi, do you still have space in the Introduction to Meditation course on 28th February? All best, Emilia.
Hi Emilia. Yes, we do.
Hi, I’ve been thinking of coming to the introduction to Buddhism meeting for a few weeks now but cannot come because of an important meeting for an expedition. I am very young but I feel very strongly about this. When will the next course start, roughly?
In May. We’ll get the dates up soon.
Thank you
The dates are up now, Konrad.
